What Country Makes Thule

In ancient Greek mythology, Thule was the most distant, northernmost place in the world. Today, the word "Thule" is used to refer to a remote, inhospitable place. So, what country makes Thule? The answer may surprise you. Thule is actually a brand name. It is owned by a company called Thule Group, which is headquartered in Sweden. The company makes a variety of products, including car racks and sports equipment. How did Thule get its name?  Thule is a small island in the Qaasuitsup municipality in northwestern Greenland. It has a population of just over 500 and an area of 21 km2. The island is located in the Baffin Bay, northeast of the Labrador Sea. It was named by English explorer John Ross in 1817.
